Barely able to leave the house, Richard ventures out one  day, but he gets lost in a s torm   and ends up at  a mysterious library. Inside, he slips, knocks himself  unconscious and   finds h imself in a car toon realm where bo oks com e to life. G uided by Ad venture (Pat rick Stewa rt),  Fantasy (Whoopi  Goldberg) and Ho rror (Frank Welker), T yler e xperiences the a dventures of classic novels suc h as Moby ~censored~ and Treasure Island, and he even meets some  famed f ictional cha racter s, such as  Dr. Jekyll an d Mr. Hyde (Leonard  Nimo y). Thr ough his exp eriences in the  pages of the legendary books, Richard confr onts his ph obias and learns to  face life more courageously.
